About Me

My photo
Perhaps I'll sail around the world; go on a pilgrimage. I'd like to see what's out there, what I am missing. Maybe ink up, open a tea shop, and publish my music. But a goal's just a wish without plans.

Dear Jay

I've caught onto the fact that when I comment after someone on my own blog, they won't get the notification. This has happened to me on other people's blogs. :)
SO.
This post is for you ;)

Jay would like to know how to say "Hello" in Sri Lankan. {The Sri Lankan language is known as Sinhalese}

There is no actual word for "Hello" but usually when you greet someone, you say "Ka-homa-tha" ~How are you?~ When you say the "tha" part you have to make the t-h sound a little hard...almost like a "duh" sound. I hope that explanation was helpful.

To say "good" you would say "Hon-thai" The T-H is the same pronounciation as explained before. And don't say that last "thai" as in the food. It's like th-eye ;)

It's been lovely teaching you Sinhalese!! ;)

Jazzy.
