About Me

My photo
Perhaps I'll sail around the world; go on a pilgrimage. I'd like to see what's out there, what I am missing. Maybe ink up, open a tea shop, and publish my music. But a goal's just a wish without plans.

Let's go on an adventure now.

It's funny how I can think that I have everything planned out one minute, and the next, it all falls apart (in a good way).

It's a good reminder to know that I am not in control, and that there are far greater plans for my life than I even know or can comprehend, just as it is with every one.

See I thought I was going to New Zealand for my YWAM trip, but that was before I was faced with the opportunity to meet my great grandparents for the first time.

I have made the choice to visit my great grandparents instead of going to New Zealand.

I'm cool with it. :) It was a very difficult decision to make, but it's comforting to know that YWAM will always be there if I decide to do a DTS in the future. :)

However; what with this trip to see my great grandparents across the continent, I don't know what is actually going to happen afterwards. See, YWAM was a 5 month thing. Visiting the grandparents is a shorter period of time, which leaves me very open ended about the whole "what does my future look like" thing.

If that makes sense.

It was just something I needed though, I guess. I needed to be reminded that I am not in control of my life. I've already surrendered.
God's in control.

He's probably laughing at me. :) Smiling, because I have absolutely no idea what's going to unfold this year. It's going to be so completely different from these past 12 years of education.

It's a good place to be. At a loss for control, but confident that at least Someone has His hands held tightly around my world.

Here's to the "Newness-Factor."

Let's go on an adventure, now.

So this is it: 2012.
Doesn't feel very different, and yet it's preparing to dump prom, grad, and an IB Certificate into my hands.
I'm pretty stoked. These 12 years of education, are finally going to mean something to me.
Sure, some of it--actually, the majority of it--sucked. But that's just it.
It's like I can almost see the light....
I'm almost done.
Highschool drama will finally come to an end.

12 years of preparation for the real world... will finally come into play... and I will be released to explore the world, and make what I can of it.

The thing is, last year... in 2011... it took me months to debate over what YWAM DTS program I had wanted to do.
See, this whole time I've wanted to push myself, take a risk, and do something crazy.... that 'something crazy' turns out to be a 6 month discipleship training school... overseas.

I wanted to go to Hawaii, and the "Engage"DTS had really captured my attention, only to find out this year that in September 2012, the only base in Kona that is for 'someone like me', does not happen to be "Engage."
I had thought that was the one.

Apparently not so.

So here goes, again.

Man. Hello 2012, and the confusion you have brought.

Time to trust God like there's no tomorrow.
Pray for me folks ! I need to figure out what I want to do ASAP.
University or YWAM.
YWAM or University.

:O

Other than that, I'm so excited.

Why is this a "justification post?"

I need to justify myself.
Do what's right.
Be myself.
Intercede.
Love.
Complete my new years resolutions:
   -to stand up for myself
-say "yes" to things I normally would say "no" to, without breaking moral values (haha, yes, like "Yes man!")
   -Exercise more--> +blog+write music+draw more tooooo. :)

I need to justify myself in order to bring justice into other situations.

This probably doesn't make a whole lot of sense...

Maybe, if I tell you this is one of those "New Years Moments," you'll understand.

A "New Years Moment" where I feel inspired to become a better person, in order to change the world.

Riding the Tides

Virtually.....Life is like a glass bottle. We....are like glass bottles.

We float in the tides waiting to reach dry land.
We ride the waves...
We sink....we float....we crash....

And sometimes we break.

Say someone finds our broken pieces, though. Say someone (of a greater being) melts our pieces with his own creation....with his own fire.
Say.....let's say....he makes us new again.

Say....he puts back out in the water again....but this time....He controls the water.....He controls the tides.....
and we float with the strengths and abilities....the density and being that which he has given us.

Life is like a glass bottle.
I am a glass bottle.

And...right now...
I feel like floating against the greater tides.....so....I'm rising from where I've sunk....and I'm going to ride them waves.
I think the only way I'll be able to float up from the depths I'm in....the only way I can get out of this current that's dragging me on to no purpose....is to call on my Maker.

Bring 'em on, baby. Bring 'em on.

Blogger's Challenge Day 18

"I can always live by my pen." ~Jane Austen

Oh...but if I could live by my pen...to write...to paint...and sing what I hear. To pull all my five senses...into words...rhythms...and acryllics.
That is an everlasting dream...
Though, for today's blogger's challenge, I believe I am not using the word "dream" in the right context.

No...
So...In the right context:
I plan to travel the world. To live all over the world doing whatever need be. I love exploring the Earth...
I keep changing what I want to be when I grow up....it used to be a midwife...then I intensely thought about social working...and now...it is journalism. Why? Because it implements everything I love: travel, writing, photography, communication--it seems perfect!
I've just got to do a little digging.
In any case...as you can see, my job will make travelling possible.
Other plans include volunteering more...I know that these major universities I want to go to all look to see how much you volunteer. Important fact to note: it doesn't matter how long you volunteer in one particular position, but the variance. So...I want to start getting involved, do YWAM after I grad, commence at least one big event during my grad year.

As for dreams...Well...I'd love to live in a castle. One of my favourite epochs was when a  knight battled great immense forces to climb the stone walls of his true love's castle. Maybe my dream is just to live in a real fairytale.
Another dream I have...is to obtain world peace...absolute equality. No I am not a fan of Lenin, nor am I a Communist. I have learned that it is a completely terrible process that takes place in order for this ideology to fold out. But that is why I dream. I dream that we will all be enlightened by the truth.

Realistically speaking...my goals are to work out more, master the piano, {{travel}}, get a job, publish a book, make a CD of all my songs, buy a banjo, learn how to play it.....the list goes on + my list of Vain Endeavourments.

I guess I'll update you in thirty years...tell you how it's goin. :)

I Think It's Weird

that there are more people in Denmark looking at my blog, then in Canada itself. -.-
Just a little strange.

Today looks like a visit to the pumpkin patch, and off to see a friend of the family's hobby involving birds. :) Absolutely amazing! I never knew there were so many different kinds of chickens and ducks--really beautiful actually! :) In the mean time I've got to write two letters: one to a bestie who lives halfway across the world :P {[Bananerzzzz]} and another to some French person for my French project. :) I's be stoked. :)

I'm a little bummed out that I won't be making it out to a concert with a couple of my favourite bands. For privacy's sake I won't say who they are :) :D But, it is next week. :( siiiiigh. Oh well. Next time. :p

Oh! I made triangle pancakes for breakfast this morning :D They were quite successful! :D
My cousin C.P. sent me this amazing link; check it OUT.

"Be the change you want to see." -Ghandi [Red]

This has actually been my life the past week. I'm changing my thought pattern...how I see things (((IB!!!!))) to be a more positive outlook. Hey, it's hard...but I've gotta try and put my best foot forward in whatever I do, so I figured if I've decided to take on the full workload of homework, I shouldn't be so harsh about it....as in....I don't need to ridicule everything. Probably sounds dumb to some of you, but it's just something I need to do. Eventually if I think positive all the time ((errr....most of the time)) it'll feel a little easier. It was my choice to take IB...now I've just gotta get through it....at least 86% happily.
Think I'm wrong?
Hear me out: At the beginning of the week, I absolutely hated with a very very strong passion: LOTF.
Today, I can say that by reading it in a slightly different perspective, I've been seeing it as a giant metaphor. I won't say it now cause I'm planning on using it for my oral presentation, but...that is that. I'm still a little disgusted with it because it's so dark....but....I have one more chapter to go and I'm not dreading it as much as I was last Monday.
Second verse of encouragement:

Proverbs 15:13 (New International Version)

13 A happy heart makes the face cheerful,
       but heartache crushes the spirit.

It's cool...because I've been feeling a lot lighter in spirit now that I've started changing my perspective.

God is good.
